Lived viewing the pictures. The last one I believe had a picture of Nrs. moskowitz. Was it her class and what year? I was in her sixth grade class in 1962.

Sorry for typos in post. Fingers too big for small phone and should have proofread.

Yep, I graduated from Mrs. Moskowitz’s 6th grade class in 1963 and went on to take the two-year SP program at Campbell JHS, so I probably graduated Campbell and John Bowne with you. Some other 1963 graduates of 201 who took the two-year SP are Stanley Hertz, Carole Sokol, Harvey Diamond, David Munn, David Penchansky, and Gladys Cohen, all of whom are shown in the video. Mrs. Moskowitz’s class did Gilbert and Sullivan’s Mikado in 1963. She also took us to see the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company performance of The Pirates of Penzance. Did your class put on that play? She was by far my favorite and most memorable grade school teacher. She used to invite kids over her house for parties and to work on her garden. She had a daughter named Barbie Jo, I think, who was our age. I think I was in love with her and her daughter both.

When I had Mrs. Moskowitz, we put onGilbert and Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore. She was a most memorable teacher. Everyone loved her. I once had the nerve though to point out to her that I thought she had teacher’s pets. I will never forget her response. She told me that she thought that I was one of them. That stopped me in my tracks. She was great.

I remember seeing the Pinafore and especially the song Sweet Little Buttercup. Did you sing that?

      • Audrey Says:

No. I wonder if Maxine Aman sang that. Everyone had a part, bit I did not get a singing part being an alto. I landed up being one of the sailors on the ship. I think to make enough parts, several girls were sailors. It wasn’t
much of a part, but i was never scarred by that. It was a fond memory.
